SMC Financial Aid Appointment

Ready to get personalized help with your college financial aid? Schedule a one-on-one appointment with a financial aid specialist using our online calendar. You can choose between:
  • General Financial Aid Counseling
  • FAFSA Application Assistance

If You Are Scheduling for FAFSA Assistance:

Please bring the following items to your appointment:

✅ Tax Documents

You’ll need tax documentation for both you and your parent(s) if you're a dependent student:

  • Starting classes in Spring 2026 (January or March) or Summer 2026 (May)?
➤ Bring both 2023 and 2024 tax documents.
  • Starting classes in Fall 2026 (August)?
➤ Bring 2024 tax documents only.

Tip: Tax documents may include IRS 1040 forms, W2(s), or other income statements.

✅ FSA ID (Federal Student Aid Account)

Before your appointment, create your FSA ID at:
🔗 Create FSA ID at StudentAid.gov

  • Both the student and parent(s) (if you're a dependent student) need to create separate FSA IDs. If your parents are married and filed a joint federal tax return, only one parent needs to create an FSA ID.
  • If your parent does not have a Social Security Number (SSN), please allow extra time for identity verification — start this process a few days in advance.
